Susan Obrant has been producing fine art for 30 years. Beginning her commercial career while still a student at Parson School of Design, she quickly established an enviable reputation as a superlative illustrator, garnering several prestigious honors, including: Grammy nomination for Best Album Cover, 1972 Award of Excellence, Society of Illustrators, NYC 1972 First woman judge at the Society of Illustrators, NYC, 1973 Selected for the Society of Illustrators "20 Years of Award Winners" exhibit, New York Historical Society, 1979 Ms. Obrant has been selected for inclusion in the forthcoming 56th edition of Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who in the World which "will chronicle the country's most accomplished men and women who are leading us forward into the 21st century." Ms. Obrant expanded her repertoire with the creation of pastels, colored pencils, and oils on canvas. Her self-education began with extensive examination of the works and visions of the masters of western and eastern art, including an invitation to review the archives of the Louvre. Her compositions and techniques are often compared to the works of El Greco, Van Gogh, Goya, Botticelli, and many others.
